In the process of building this digital space, I found myself reminiscing over my decades-long career in food media — from leading integrated marketing efforts for emerging and legacy food brands; to heading up communications for restaurants, chefs, and bartenders; and even launching my passion project, the community-driven site Black Food & Beverage.

As a food writer, the depth and reach of those varied experiences lend weight and texture to my food and culture stories, many of which are layered with Black and midwestern narratives.
